Since then river rafting has become the most popular tourist activity in the country. The waters are clean, warm and quite spectacular and guided by Adrift’s 8 men crew along the river descent, which takes around five and a half hours. No experience is necessary. Equipment and basic training are provided for and the river traffic is light. Mostly with local animals such as monitor lizards and otters and the occasional dugout canoes.
Not only is this a great heap of wet fun and a total adrenaline rush but there are a lot of things to be seen on the calmer parts of the descent. These include a great variety of birdlife, tropical forests, cape clawless otters, monitor lizards, turtles and local communities and fishermen.
Other activities include bungee jumping, zip line and canopy tours, Kayaking, canoeing, tubing, SUP, extreme rafting, river boarding, jet boat, sunset cruises, fishing, quad bikes, mountain bikes, Nile walks and horseback safaris.
There are lodges located along the journey as well as the fantastic Wildwaters Lodge.
The minimum age for rafting is 12.
All operations and activities are 3rd party reviewed and audited. Safety is of the highest international standards. These include lifejackets, NRS helmets for the individuals and each descent is accompanied by a group of highly trained safety kayakers and a safety boat with complete first aid boxes and evacuation plans.
Best to book 1 week ahead to avoid any disappointments.
